Scott A. Zakany serves as President of CGCS and has been involved in the Golf Course industry for over 30 years with experience at over 300 golf facilities in three countries. Prior to his involvement with CGCS, Mr. Zakany was a co-founder of International Golf Maintenance in 1994 where he served as President of the world’s largest golf course maintenance company.
Due to recent economic times, it’s imperative that golf courses operate more efficiently and effectively to ensure that they are meeting golfers and owner/operators expectations.To ensure that this is occurring at every facility we manage, CGCS has adopted a philosophy that has become the cornerstone of our success. A Successful Team Beats with One Heart
William Stine
Chief Executive Officer William "Bill" Stine has over 35 years of golf course operations and acquisitions experience. Bill is responsible for the oversight and management company assets as well as managing the corporate affairs of Cypress Golf Management.
As a Co-Founder and President of International Golf Maintenance Co. (IGM), and Meadowbrook Golf, Bill was instrumental in growing the company to become the third largest golf course operator in the U. S. With 105 courses and 5,000 employees, he grew IGM into the industry’s largest provider of third party golf course maintenance. Bill is a Past President and is a current Board Member of the National Golf Course Owners Association and was an original member of the “Golf 20/20” steering committee.
John Fogel
John is responsible for the oversight and direction of all golf operations. John has been a Class “A” PGA Professional since 1997 and possesses 20 years of experience in the golf industry.
Previously, John worked with Kitson and Partners as Vice President of Operations. In his time there, John was responsible for the operations of all owned assets as well as all third party management contracts. John’s management assignments took him all across the United States including Hawaii, the North East, South East and South West.
John also worked at Meadowbrook Golf and ascended to the position of Regional Vice President responsible for all operations at clubs in the North East and South East Regions.
Scott A. Zakany
Scott A. Zakany heads the Agronomic Support team for Cypress Golf Management. Mr. Zakany has been involved in the Golf Course industry for over 40 years and has experience at over 300 golf facilities in three countries.
Mr. Zakany is a member of the Top Agronomic Officers Advisory Board that works in conjunction with the National Golf Course Owner’s Association and he also serves as the Agronomic Counsel for the Golf Course Business Consultants Group (CGBC) which is a professional organization that provides owners and operators with golf course related services and advice. Mr. Zakany has an Associate of Science Degree in Golf Course Operation from LCCC and is an active member of several advisory groups and organizations.
Cypress Golf Management’s key personnel have been involved in golf management throughout all areas of the United States. The senior management team averages over 40 years of experience in the golf operations industry. This team of operating professionals have operated and managed more than 115 public, resort and private golf facilities across different golf management companies in the United States. This experience translates to the understanding of what it takes to provide professional golf operations management. As current owners and operators of golf facilities ourselves, we understand the need to maximize profits and stabilize operations. However, our approach is always focused to a specific club and the game of golf itself. The values of which golf has been built on, are the values we use everyday to always exceed our guest’s experience and in accomplishing that goal the golf business side of the equation always falls into place.
